We Forgot All About the Asteroid That’s Going to Destroy The Earth
Oh, now it’s just going to destroy the moon
An asteroid named 2024YR4 is hurtling towards the Earth but will probably miss us, unless it doesn’t.
The asteroid is the size of a football field because that’s the only unit of measurement we can all agree on. Anything the size of a football field or larger is bad.
A few months ago there was only a 1% chance of asteroid 2024YR4 hitting the Earth, but then it became more like 3%.
Now there’s a “near” 0% chance of the asteroid hitting the Earth, but it might hit the moon.
It’s like nobody even remembers Space: 1999. We don’t have Martin Landau around to bail us out anymore.
And it might not even hit the moon because who the hell knows what’s going on out there? I don’t know about you, but I’m not real confident about anything anymore.
NASA might also be completely wrong about the size of the asteroid because it’s still really far away and everything looks smaller when it’s far away.
Just look at all those Instagram photos where people are pretending to hold up the Leaning Tower of Pisa. That’s the only science most people…
