MONEY, MONEY, MONEY
Substack or Medium?
Pick your poison.
I come not to blow smoke up your derrière (unlike some people I could name — it rhymes with Dim Tenning), but to give you my opinion.
Over on my Substack, inventively entitled Bev Has All the Answers, I was asked a question that I’d already given a lot, and I mean a lot of thought to.
“Bev, I know this is completely off topic but can you tell me the biggest differences between Medium and Substack? Thx.”
I’m glad you asked.
Obviously, the biggest difference is monetization. You can break the 100-follower mark on Medium fairly easily and start making money (hey, pennies or dollars — money is money).
When the paywall went up and I began posting in earnest, I already had over 700 followers. Who were they? No idea. Were they even real people? Probably not.
People will follow you on Medium for no real reason as long as you post. True, they may not speak English or be actual human beings, but you can’t be picky.
