SONG PARODY

Don’t Wave Me Through

A little ditty I wrote at an intersection while I lost my mind.

To the tune of ‘Don’t Fence Me In’:

Oh, give me road, lots of road,
Somewhere people know the rules —
Don’t wave me through.

I will yell, I will swear,
Shoot two fingers in the air —
Don’t wave me through!

Let me live my life ’cause it’s been a long day,
Am I the only one who knows that it works this way?
It’s never legal to turn left, so sweet Jesus, please,
Don’t wave me through.

Just drive the way you’re supposed to
Or did you skip that page?
I swear to God I will sit here
’Till we die of old age.

And while we’re at it, at a four-way,
You were clearly there first —
Don’t wave me through.

I know you think you’re being polite
But you’re making me insane —
Don’t wave me through!

We could have both been home by now
If you weren’t so stupid,
Read me lips, sir — why is it always men?? —
“I DON’T HAVE THE RIGHT OF WAY.”
I can’t stand morons and I know the law,
So don’t wave me through.
