A Television Show Called Twice and I Hung Up On Them Both Times
I’m pretty hang-up happy.
How do all of these true crime shows find stuff to talk about?
I’ve been a legal secretary for 30 years and I can count the number of interesting cases I’ve been involved with or heard about on the fingers of both hands and the toes on maybe one foot.
Most crime is incredibly boring. But somehow shows like Dateline and 20/20 keep churning out episode after episode. There are a lot of dead spouses out there.
But with all the different TV shows and now podcasts that are in the mix, they must be getting pretty desperate, because A&E’s Accused: Guilty or Innocent called our office twice yesterday and I hung up on them both times.
Now, to be fair, I get probably 20 calls a day at the office from telemarketers. So if I even bother to answer the calls that show up on caller I.D. with weird area codes or from places like “Grand Canyon, AZ”, I’m pretty quick on the draw to just hang up.
My co-worker and my boss like to talk to telemarketers. This mystifies me.
